About this job

This position is responsible for assisting guests in the Coffee outlet in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner. Effectively promotes the Coffee outlet and Restaurant, takes orders, and prepares/serves beverage/pastry orders. Adheres to all health regulations and CSM and brand standards of quality to ensure guest satisfaction. Stays up to date with coffee brand products and seasonal promotions.
Promptly greets and serves all guests, and responds to their needs in a friendly, positive and timely manner.
Provides the highest quality service and establishes appropriate rapport with all guests.
Understands and follows CSM guest service recovery program.
Listens attentively, takes orders accurately, and uses proper serving techniques.
Suggests additional items such as pastries when coffee is ordered.
Is knowledgeable about specials and promotions in the restaurant, and actively helps build the business within and outside of the coffee outlet.
Follows all CSM cash handling/POS procedures.
Follows CSM procedures when handling cash and processing financial transactions.
Responsible for proper use of all equipment and adheres to cost controls to reduce expenses and waste.
Dispenses/serves food and beverages and maintains a clean and safe work area in accordance with CSM, local, state, and federal regulations.
Follows all CSM procedures for guest/associate incidents. Knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures.
Produces required volume of work by planning, organizing and prioritizing work duties.
Adheres to CSM attendance policy, grooming/appearance standards, general work rules and department procedures.
Attends all required meetings.
Assists in other areas within the Food and Beverage department as needed, and works as a team player to ensure all guest needs are met.
Actively contributes to the efforts of other departments when necessary.
Completes all assigned duties within or outside the normal scope of responsibilities.
Completes all required side work including but not limited to: cleaning coffee outlet and surrounding tables, stocking supplies and cooler; removal of trash, and maintaining overall cleanliness of the coffee outlet.
Competencies/Skills Required: Must have one or more years of previous guest service experience. Must have demonstrated exemplary customer service, attention to detail, and ability to perform job duties in a repetitious and fast paced environment. Must have the ability to speak and understand English in order to meet guest s needs.
Education: High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience required.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push and pull up to 30 pounds on a regular basis throughout shift. Requires ability to complete physically demanding responsibilities such as walking, standing, carrying, and moving throughout the coffee outlet continuously throughout the shift.
Competencies/Skills Preferred: Prefer one or more years of previous serving or barista experience in a venue of similar volume and reputation for outstanding service.
