This position is responsible for the design, development and production of learning content to support the programs defined by CA Education, including conducting job, task, and needs analysis to identify strategically aligned learning initiatives, designing and developing learning solutions in a variety of delivery modes (e. g., instructor-led training, self-paced training, short subject videos, etc.), managing external vendors to produce and deploy learning solutions, as well as measuring the business impact and effectiveness of deployed learning solutions. Design learning content with the mission of enabling CA s customers to use and consume our products.

About the Role

In this role, you ll help support CA Technologies charter to transform the IT industry and be responsible to:

  • Conduct job, task and needs analysis to determine learning needs, and work with senior management and employees to identify learning and performance needs in accordance with business priorities.
  • Lead the design and implementation of curriculum and develop appropriate plans to enable CA s customers to effectively use our products.
  • Mentor instructional designers, program managers, and curriculum developers in departmental standards, instructional design methodologies, and implementation of learning strategies.
  • Lead creation and updating of current instructional/developmental strategies, documents, and processes.
  • Work with subject matter experts to gather, analyze, and organize content that will be designed and developed into learning content tailored to target audience.
  • Work with other CA groups such as Development, Support, and Marketing to plan and execute objectives.
  • Meet with employees/customers/partners, when necessary, to plan work and solicit feedback and requirements.
  • Work with other Readiness Teams to ensure consistency in presentation and delivery mechanisms for learning content.
  • Ensure the production of quality learning content.
  • Work with the Learning Systems and Infrastructure Team to coordinate development efforts with plans to implement new learning delivery systems, internally to employees and/or externally to partners.

How You ll Stand Out:

The perfect candidate for this role will have a demonstrated record of success in positions of increasing responsibility over the course of their career. She/he will have an outstanding track record and reputation for being proactive, assertive and detail oriented. An ideal background will include:

  • Typically 2 or more years of experience with designing learning programs in a large, multi-national, organization, and responsible for the design and development of learning content within that organization.
  • Experience in the production of audience-specific learning content for enablement in the use of software applications deployed both on premise or SaaS.
  • Practical experience applying instructional design and curriculum development methodologies, and learning strategies for software products in a commercial environment.
  • Proven effectiveness in collaborating, negotiating, and interviewing customers to solicit required learning content.
  • Strong strategic planning and project management capabilities, outstanding cross-divisional collaboration skills, and international/multi-cultural exposure.
  • Requires organizational agility (able to identify and work with many groups to achieve results), the ability to lead and drive change and a proven ability to maneuver through unstructured problems and create the necessary structure to drive results.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools and collaboration and learning technology.
  • Industry certifications in instructional design, curriculum development, performance improvement, and content-specific certifications as appropriate.
  • Business travel of approximately 25 percent or less yearly is expected for this position.
  • Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent with an advanced degree preferred in Instructional Design, Education, Communication, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
