Responsibilities:

The Sr. Benefits Specialist is responsible for the management of all team members benefit packages. This includes introducing the benefits options available to team members during orientation through educating team members about their benefits. Coordinating and conducting training of team members so they may understand and enroll in their benefits. Planning, organizing and directing the activities related to one or more benefits including group health, group life, dental, vision, flexible spending, LOA, 401(k) and other company-provided benefits. Preparing and developing communication and educational materials regarding the benefits package for all the insured team members. The Sr. Benefits Specialist also function as a mentor on the team and assist the Team Leader with administration and other aspects of the Health and welfare programs.

What you ll do:

  • Assist Benefits Specialist and Team Leader with the administration and other aspects of the Health and Welfare programs (e. g. Tuition Assistance, Disability, Issue Resolution, etc.)
  • Identify, suggest and implement ongoing process improvements
  • Develop team member benefit procedures
  • Communicate policies and procedures for benefit programs - the legal stuff. (e. g. SPDs)
  • Overseeing the maintenance of team member benefits records through an HRIS system and/or vendor online portals
  • Coordinating and conducting training of team members so they may understand and enroll in their benefits
  • Planning, organizing and directing the activities related to one or more benefits including group health, group life, dental, vision, flexible spending, 401(k) and other company-provided benefits
  • Preparing and developing communication and educational materials regarding the benefits package for all the insured team members.
  • Coordinating and auditing benefit billings by working with the carriers and the accounting team
  • Performing other duties as assigned

What you ll need:

  • 3-5 years of Benefits Administration experience required
  • 3-5 Years of Benefits Communication experience strongly preferred
  • 3 years in managing vendor relationships
  • Experience working with the following is a plus: Worker's Compensation, COBRA, LOA, STD/LTD, FMLA,ADA, Healthcare Reform Act, and qualified medical Child Support Orders
  • Strong organizational skills required
  • Strong PC (Excel) and other technical skills (SharePoint, FrontPage, website development, social media experience is a plus)
  • Strong communication and customer service skills required
  • Strong public speaking skills and experience communicating programs to team members
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment with competing priorities
  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality
