The BRAND NEW-AC Hotel Worcester- OPENING EARLY 2018 is in search of an energetic, experienced and detail oriented Banquet Manager to join our team. This role will manage all phases of banquet functions, ensuring that our guests have a smooth event and memorable experience.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with sales teams and Hotel General Managers at assigned hotels
  • Recruit, interview and hire banquet staff associates for assigned hotel(s)
  • Participate in performance management with associates
  • Train and support all banquet associates and ensure performance in accordance with established hotel brand/Colwen standards
  • Adherence to all applicable Colwen/brand standards
  • Determine departmental targets, objectives, and budgets
  • Review Banquet Event Orders (BEO) with staff
  • Schedule banquet service staff according to forecast (BEO)and service standards, while maximizing profit
  • Conduct pre shift meeting prior to all functions
  • Develop menus with other members of food and beverage team
  • Ongoing communication with staff through regular departmental meetings (document agenda and attendance)
  • Use banquet beverage records to control liquor costs and manage banquet beverage inventory
  • Educate and maintain proper controls with banquet bartenders
  • Abide by all state, local and municipal laws and regulations pertaining to liquor and food safety
  • Manage the inventory, control and breakage of china, glass and silver in relation to banquet services
  • Receive, check and document food and beverage deliveries
  • Seek out knowledge of market trends and ideas for new banquet ideas and presentation
  • Ensure all phases of loss prevention are coordinated and monitored
