Responsibilities and Qualifications

Serves as an analyst for Mercy Receivables system development, re-engineering, or system enhancement projects. Maintains databases, spreadsheets, computer and paper files related to interfaced software packages. Responsible for routine reporting and pro-active analytical support relating to the systems. Works effectively with Patient Accounting, Information Services, Medical Records, Admitting, Nursing, Fiscal Services, and other external customers to bring about problem resolution in a professional manner. Responsible for development of user training manuals. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

  • Review vendor invoices and verify they are correct. Work with vendors to correct invoices when need be.
  • Investigate and Resolve issues with problem cases at local and state level as needed.
  • Travel to various facilities as well as various local, state and federal offices as required for resolving problems with cases.
  • Acts as a liaison between state Medicaid offices and Social Security Administration and Mercy MEP Department relative to discrepancies in policy.
  • Responsible for developing training program and materials for the Social Security Disability Program for the MEP department.
  • Must have an extensive working knowledge of Medicaid regulations, policy and procedure in multiple states.
  • Research state and federal regulation changes related to Social Security and Medicaid programs for multiple states and provide updates to Co-workers.
  • Develope and Maintain the training program and the materials for the Medicaid programs for states of Arkansas, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma for new coworkers.
  • Responsible for conducting new co-worker training Medicaid Eligibility and Social Security Disability sessions for all new hires for the MEP department.
  • Perform re-training and in-service sessions to reinforce the Medicaid skills needed to screen patients and manage the Pending Medicaid Applications.
  • Complete various audits relative to MEP KPI reports to determine trends and issues.
  • Assess potential untimely filing report and distribute to MEP staff to ensure that all accounts are filed in a timely manner.
  • Work Medicaid cases in pending routes when co-worker changes occur.
  • Assist the Director of MEP with various audits and reports as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High school diploma required.

Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of relative experience necessary.

Other skills & knowledge: (skills, knowledge, abilities)

Interpersonal and organizational skills required. Must possess superior oral and written communication skills, and analytical skills. Must be capable of handling a large volume of transactions on a daily basis and considerable CRT use. May need to be on-call and/or report to work during unusual hours for system testing or troubleshooting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor degree in business/information system preferred.

Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of relative experience necessary.

Other skills & knowledge: Knowledge of personal computer and software desired.
