Job Summary

The role as a room attendant is mainly to ensure that the rooms are clean, neat, and tidy at all times. This involves making sure the general appearance of the room, is not only hygienic but that it is also well decorated to make the room look attractive and very appealing to the guest inhabiting it.

Shift: First and Second shift available

Pay: $8. 00

Requirements: Competencies

• Reports needed repairs of unsafe conditions to supervisor
• Responds quickly to the request from guests, supervisors or management in a timely, friendly and efficient manor
• Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction
• Change and make guest room beds to hotel standard
• Sort and separates soiled linens. Replenish linen
• Vacuum carpets and wash floors in guest rooms
• Replenish all required amenities and supplies required in guest room
• Clean wash basins, mirrors, commodes, tubs, and showers daily
• Must handle various cleaning solvents, chemicals, etc
• All other duties assigned

Knowledge/Skills

Must have basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products and operation of standard cleaning equipment. Must have vision ability to see minute debris and dirt in poorly lit areas, and to read written instructions and computer print-outs. Must be able to understand and follow verbal/written instructions and communicate both verbally and in writing.

Abilities

Must have upper body strength to lift up to 50lbs. continually throughout a shift. Must have finger, hand and upper body dexterity to push, pull and move levers, equipment and furniture throughout a shift. Must be able to work with arms raised above head throughout a shift. Must be able to maneuver fully loaded maid cart, weighing up to 50lbs., through hallways and into/out of closets during entire work day.
