Job Description

Microchip is currently seeking a Benefits Specialist at our Colorado Springs location.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct new hire orientation to ensure employees gain an understanding of our benefit programs

  • Assist with the yearly US benefits open enrollment

  • Act as a liaison between employees and benefit providers to resolve benefit related issues

  • Day to day contact for all employees with benefit related questions and counsel employees on benefit plan provisions

  • Oversee and administer the leave of absence process including FMLA and personal leaves

  • Coordinates employee benefit events and assists with wellness activities

  • Assist in the input and auditing of benefit enrollments to ensure accuracy and timely enrollment in benefit plans

  • Assist with workers compensation claims

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field

  • 5-7 years benefits experience

  • FMLA/ADA/Leave of absence experience required

  • Knowledge of ACA, HIPAA, COBRA and ERISA

  • Experience with PeopleSoft and Kronos is a plus

  • Strong analytic and organization skills as well as attention to detail needed

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
