Responsibilities and Qualifications

Qualifications:

Each career at Mercy represents unique members of our caring ministry s body , working together for the health and strength of the whole. To achieve our goals, we need all the parts functioning at their best and this requires the specific qualifications that you ll bring with you:

Licensure: Current MO EMP-P or, if working in Branson West, AR EMT-P. Current provider in ACLS, PALS, and PHTLS or ITLS.
Experience: ALS care for at least three years with demonstrated above average abilities and skills.
Certifications: FP-C or CCP-C certifications required for Paramedics who conduct critical care transports and have been employed with air medical services for more than two years. Flight Paramedics with less than two years of critical care experience will complete within two years of hire. Must have, or be able to complete during first year of service, NRP and HAZMAT.
Other: Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Expected to be capable for performing patient care of critically ill or seriously injured patients, for all age groups. Must possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patients requirements relative to his or her age specific needs and to provide the care needed. Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy loads, work in all climate conditions, and expect to be exposed to the outdoor elements on a daily basis. Must be able to practice excellent job mechanics in a confined area, be able to deal with stressful situations, make sound and accurate judgments concerning patient care, and adapt to changing environment with constant interruptions. Mist be able to pass a yearly flight fitness evaluation that demands you push, pull, and grip up to 75lbs. and pinch up to 20lbs. You will also be expected to kneel, crouch, and crawl occasionally. Must be able to use a Cardiac Monitor, Non-Invasive/Invasive BP Monitor, Mechanical Ventilator, Co2 Monitor, IABP, Infusion Pump and computer. As of 7/1/2017, the new weight requirement will be 230 lbs or less in full uniform (flight suit and boots).
