Responsibilities

Perform cleaning tasks in assigned area(s) Remove trash and linen Ensure that all surfaces are clean and sanitary Remove and clean up all messes and spills Restock dispensers Other tasks as assigned Perform cleaning tasks in assigned patient care area(s) Meet established time standards for daily cleaning of patient rooms Meet established time standards for cleaning of discharges Meet established time standards for cleaning of clean next discharges Meet established time standards for cleaning of stat discharges Maintain adequate supplies in work area storage; record supplies removed from storeroom Other tasks as assigned Follow established hospital and departmental policies and procedures in the performance of all job duties to ensure a safe work environment for self and others Follow Infection Control policies and procedures for cleaning of isolations Follow appropriate policies and procedures for handling biohazardous waste Follow manufacturer's operating guidelines and departmental training in operation of all departmental equipment Follow appropriate policies and procedures for handling chemicals Appropriate use of personal protective equipment Use of proper body mechanics in all functions Report repairs for equipment, building, fixtures and furnishings Provide leadership and coordination of department activities Assumes responsibility in absence of manager Responsible for maintaining department's service standards Provides functional expertise to colleagues when they have questions Trains new staff in area(s) and duties Acts as a liaison for department when interacting with other departments, patients and the public Keeps department leadership informed of changes and/or obstacles to completion of department services

Qualifications: Experience : Previous institutional housekeeping experience. Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Compensation Detail: Minimum rate is $12. 64 based upon union contract.
Hours/Pay Period: 80
Schedule Details: Evening Shift
Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday
