Job Description

Micro-camera Pilot Line Manager

Position Summary:

This individual will be responsible for managing FLIR s new pilot line camera assembly line. In this critical role, the successful candidate will manage equipment and process start-up for the micro-camera pilot line. In addition, the candidate will work with engineering to ensure high process capability while driving for a lean operation. They and their team will define goals, improve technologies, and resolve problems in conjunction with managers of supply chain, quality assurance, engineering, and sales.

In addition, the candidate will work with engineering to ensure high process capability while driving for a lean operation. They and their team will define goals, improve technologies, and resolve problems in conjunction with managers of supply chain, quality assurance, engineering, and sales.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage pilot line assembly and test team
  • Act as the interface with engineering to ensure timely execution of both development and production milestones
  • Ensure adherence to Safety procedures as well as regulatory compliance
  • Assess build plan and cost targets to develop manufacturing strategies and processes
  • Resolve operational issues and ensure adherence to schedules
  • Select, develop, and evaluate staff
  • Implement and verify operator training

Qualification and Experience:

BS degree and 10 years of relevant manufacturing/operations experience.

US Citizen or have Permanent Resident Status required.

Specific Skills:

  • Effective leadership skills
  • Six-Sigma experience, lean manufacturing experience or aptitude, willingness to learn.
  • Experience with technologies and processes used to make micro-cameras is a plus.
  • People management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Demonstrated project planning, budgeting and management skills
  • Strong Computer aptitude SAP; Microsoft office applications

Working Conditions:

Combination of office environment and cleanroom (Class 10,000) assembly areas, wearing cleanroom garments and protective equipment as required.
