Job Description: The ICU RN manages the nursing careof critically ill patients in accordance with established policies, proceduresand protocols of the healthcare organization. The tasks andresponsibilities include: Assesses plansand evaluates patient care needs. Carries outphysician orders. Serves as theprimary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Monitors, recordsand communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerizeddocumentation systems. Instructs andeducates patients and families. Assesses andcoordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcareteam. Educate new andcurrent staff on Sepsis program Creates andprovides training material to staff on Sepsis care Provides age andculturally appropriate care. Orients andmentors new staff members. Follows StandardPrecautions using personal protective equipment as required.
