Job Description: The ICU RN manages the nursing careof critically ill patients in accordance with established policies, proceduresand protocols of the healthcare organization. The tasks andresponsibilities include: Assesses plansand evaluates patient care needs. Carries outphysician orders. Serves as theprimary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Monitors, recordsand communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerizeddocumentation systems. Instructs andeducates patients and families. Assesses andcoordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcareteam.
