POSITION SUMMARY

To maintain the Terrain Park s operations, aesthetics, safety qualities, design and shape of features for the terrain park department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES (list in order of importance)This position is responsible for the following job results .
  • Designs and maintain the shape and integrity of all Terrain Park features by communicating with the Terrain Park Supervisor to ensure a quality terrain park.
  • Ensures guest Talking to guests, educating park users on proper usage and etiquette, surveying guests about their park experience and being knowledgeable about all resort offerings.
  • Maintain safety of Terrain Park features by shoveling, salting, opening and or closing features as needed
  • Ensures the completion of the Terrain Park Log in a professional manner.
  • Testing features throughout the day for proper construction and documenting any required or performed maintenance.
  • Oversees the aesthetic qualities of the park grounds and facilities by ensuring that trash is picked up, tower pads are adjusted properly, the facilities are kept neat and clean and that appropriate music and volume level policies are being followed.
  • Assists with contests by setting up and taking down fencing, judging areas and banners.
  • Acting as a judge or course official, recording results and other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains a presence at all Races and Events and supports the events team as needed.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent minimum required

Experience: 4 years skiing/snowboarding.. preferred

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be an expert skier/snowboarder and have the ability to ride the terrain park. - minimum required
  • Knowledge of terrain park operations and construction. -preferred
  • Must meet minimum requirements of the Snowshoe Driver s Program (for some cases)

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Any Intrawest employee or volunteer who operates a company vehicle including cars, trucks, snowcats, snowmobiles, or heavy equipment is required to comply with the Intrawest Driver s Standards Policy. This policy also applies to employees or volunteers driving their personal vehicles for company business more than four times per month, averaging 30+ miles per trip. All drivers should receive a full copy of the Intrawest Driver s Standards Policy; if you have not please contact your Risk/Safety or HR/EE Department.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Mountain Environment:

    • The primary physical environment in which this position works is out of doors with a high exposure level to cold, snow, wind, rain, bugs, sun, high altitude, extreme heights, lightning, etc...
    • The degree of strenuous activity within the job is considered to be high. Often lifting a weight of 50pounds throughout the day is common.
    • Additional strenuous physical activity may include walking or hiking upon uneven, challenging terrain with heavy tools or equipment.
    • Exposure to: Chemicals required for cleaning, de-greasing, and painting Ultra Violet radiation from the sun enhanced through lack of atmospheric filtration at work altitude. Fumes produced in activities ranging from cleaning to painting to fabrication of metal products. Noise generated by snowmobiles, lift equipment, and tools may require hearing protection to be worn.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
