WINTER PARK RESORT OVERVIEW

Opened in January of 1940, Winter Park Resort is the oldest continuously operating resort in the U. S., and located just 67 miles NW of Denver, is the closest major ski resort to the City. Owned by the City and County of Denver, and managed by Intrawest/Winter Park Operations Corporation, Winter Park is part of the rich history and tradition of Denver mountain parks, and is also one of Intrawest s premier destination resorts in North America. Winter Park s traditions are deeply rooted in railroad, logging, and the early exploration of Grand County and the local Fraser Valley. POSITION SUMMARY(convey level of autonomy or level of authority)

Employees in this position are expected to consistently provide excellent guest service, obtain an excellent working knowledge of WPSRS lesson systems and procedures, and obtain an excellent working knowledge of the computerized ticketing system, reporting procedures and associated accounting systems. Interested applicants must possess a High School diploma or equivalent (GED), have one year of cashiering experience, retail sales, accounting, or equivalent, and experience with a multi-line telephone system and retail/data entry computer systems. Other qualifications include: the ability to demonstrate exemplary guest service philosophy and problem solving techniques, good verbal communication and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES(list in order of importance)
  • Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner. Answer general and specific questions; giving accurate information.
  • Assist the guest with private lesson information by assessing their needs and booking the lessons; providing concierge services, coordinating instructor schedules for those lessons; directing guest expectations and processing sales.
  • Responsible for excellent knowledge of WP Ski & Ride School private lesson instructors and their abilities to properly match guest with instructor.
  • Learn and maintain an excellent working knowledge of the Resort Pos system, RTP, including sales, discounts, comps, POS Billing, voids, refunds, payment types and other necessary skills.
  • Be current on weather and snow conditions, special events and promotions for Ski & Ride School as well as the whole resort.
  • Process sale transactions and collect payment. Obtain signed release liability form for all lesson participants.
  • Direct guest to appropriate meeting place and time and set expectations for the lesson.
  • Answer phone, giving accurate information in a pleasant and helpful manner. Take private lesson reservations and verify availability from all instructor schedules. Fill out necessary paperwork and file appropriately.
  • Coordinate lessons and students with supervisors and scheduler through personal, radio and phone communication.
  • Close and balance POS system daily by counting cash drawer, running appropriate reports and attaching proper documentation. Turn daily POS reports into Private Lesson Lead for review and approval prior to go to Revenue Accounting.
  • Address guest concerns quickly and efficiently

Other Duties:

  • Assist other Ski & Ride School jobs such as Scheduler and Support Agents, as needed.
  • Maintain a professional facility by removing trash and cleaning as needed
  • Learn all SRS policies and procedures as well as on hill operations.
  • Maintain sufficient supplies, forms, brochures and ticket stock at work stations.
  • Maintain a friendly, congenial and helpful attitude while effectively dealing with guests and other employees. Show cooperation and pleasant attitude. Strive to facilitate an atmosphere of team work.
  • Report and/or correct unsafe conditions regarding equipment, work are and ski area in general
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or Adult Manager.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS(state minimum required and preferred)

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
  • Experience:
  • One year cashiering experience, retail sales, accounting or equivalent.
  • Experience with multi-line telephone system and retail data entry computer system.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Guest service, typing/keyboarding and good communication skills desirable.

This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Office Environment:

  • Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 20pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis.
  • Auditory and visual acuity to operate computers, phones, mobile devices and basic office equipment on a constant basis.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time sitting, bending, reaching, and speaking on a constant basis.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, pushing and pulling on an occasional basis.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
