Position Summary:
The executive chef will train and manage kitchen personnel and supervise/coordinate all related culinary activities; estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food; select and develop recipes; standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality; establish presentation technique and quality standards; plan and price menus; ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance; and ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen. The executive chef may cook selected items or for selected occasions.
Position Qualifications:
- Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree. A culinary degree is preferred.
- Six or more years of food industry and /or culinary management experience. You may substitute 1 additional year of experience for each year of education below the basic requirement above as long as you possess a high-school diploma or GED.
- The ability to manage a diverse environment with focus on patient and customer services is essential in this role.
- The executive chef directly supervises kitchen personnel with responsiblity for hiring, discipline, performance reviews and initiating pay increases.
