Sodexo University Dining is seeking an experienced Executive Chef 3 for a High Profile University culinary opportunity located in Greater Seattle, WA area - in beautiful Pacific Northwest. Reporting to the General Manager, the Executive Chef for this large campus will be responsible for $15 million in annual volume with 2,200 student boarders on the meal plan. This business consists of approximately $8 9M dining operation, $5 million in retail food business featuring local artisan program and vendors, and $2+ million in high volume and high end Catering.

The Executive Chef will direct a culinary team, develop a local artisan and scratch cooking program while partnering with the University's Sustainability initiatives.

The best qualified candidate will have the following:

  • High-volume College/University culinary and culinary management experience

  • Catering culinary program experience

  • A culinary degree or certification

  • Experience with food and labor management systems

  • Experience leading and training a culinary staff

  • Sustainability focus and ability to implement overall local and sustainable initiatives

  • Experience with on-line ordering programs

  • Excellent management skills with the ability to wear multiple hats

  • A strong attention to detail and a high focus on food presentation/menu planning

Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a large sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training. Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution.

  • Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.

  • Manages catering & retail areas.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelors Degree

Basic Management Experience - 3 years

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
