Essential Functions:
Assist the Lead Dish Room Attendant in processing of dish ware including sorting silverware, and scraping, and stacking dishes throughout meal periods. Cleans and sanitizes all pots, pans, cookware, preparation containers, dishes, and silverware. Ensures the cleanliness and sanitation of dish area. Keeps items on dirty pans rack organized, returns clean items, cleans kitchen and work area, takes out trash, wipes down all sinks, walls and counters, cleans and flushes floor drains, sweeps, and mops. Remove trash periodically throughout shift, clean and line trash cans for next shift. Reports any equipment that malfunctions or needed repairs. Keeps an inventory of all chemicals, supplies, and dishware.

Required qualificationsSix months experience in custodial maintenance. Experience following basic work instructions. Six months experience using carpet care equipment. Six months experience with floor care. Six months experience using custodial equipment. Six months experience in building cleaning and custodial work. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred QualificationsHigh school graduation or GED. More than one year of janitorial experience in a large institution. More than one year of experience with vacuum cleaners, buffers, and floor machines. More than one year of experience stripping and refinishing vinyl tile floors. Experience in building services at the University of Texas. Experience working in a conference setting. Demonstrated ability to receive, respond, and follow through with verbal work related instructions from supervisors, customers, and co-workers. Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
