The Accounting Systems Administrator partners with Information Technology, the accounting department, other senior and department managers, process owners, and system users to develop, administer, and support Microsoft Dynamics GP and other financial application environments and to ensure that they achieve their business objectives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Understand and assist in the optimization of Financial Systems to include Great Plans, Management Reporter, and others.
  • Capture, understand, and deliver new capabilities based on new Finance systems requirements.
  • Performs all system administration tasks related to Dynamics GP, Management Reporter, and other financial systems, including creation and maintenance of users, access set-up and entitlements, manage and perform maintenance procedures, and other related tasks
  • Generate standard and ad-hoc reports to support accounting, financial, and auditing processes
  • Provides end-user training and support related to Dynamics GP Management Reporter, and other financial systems
  • Responsible for accounting project management including setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, monitoring status, and reporting on progress of projects
  • Prepares documentation for system projects, procedures, and processes
  • Identifies opportunities and implements process improvements including internal controls, forms, procedures, policies and systems to streamline processes while fully meeting the compliance requirements and proper accounting principles.
  • Researches software solutions to assist accounting management in selection processes and business decisions.
  • Works with vendors to develop solutions for automation and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinates with users, IT, and vendors for issue resolution and maintenance/upgrades of financial applications.
  • Assists with special projects and researches compliance issues

    Systems and Standards
  • Maintains a clean, neat work environment
  • Completes all tasks in a timely manner as instructed by the Director of Accounting
  • Cooperates with senior management and coworkers to ensure that services can be adequately maintained to meet the needs of internal and external customers
  • Treats clients and associates with courtesy, respect and dignity
  • Interfaces with management and technology support personnel on accounting applications
  • Identifies current or potential problems with reports, analyzes the impact to financial data, and proposes solutions

    Safety and Risk Management
  • Understands and follows safety and security procedures
  • Practices preventative safety procedures as set forth by Towne Park
  • Reports all accidents and incidents to the Director of Accounting immediately
  • Uses only equipment trained to use and operates all equipment in a safe manner
  • Reports all potential high risk areas and safety concerns to the Director of Accounting

  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) and various accounting technology applications

  • Ability to represent the company effectively in a variety of settings with a demonstrated understanding and appreciation for diverse cultures
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business policies, procedures, equipment manuals, training materials, and corporate communications
  • Ability to compose professional internal and external business communications including reports, memos, letters, and e-mails

    QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and three (3) years of related experience; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Hands-on experience and understanding of the general ledger, payables management, receivables management, and sales order processing modules in Dynamics GP.
  • Experience with Microsoft Management Reporter preferred.
  • Experience in Great Plains (or other financial systems) upgrades.
  • Familiarity with integrations to/from other applications and Great Plains.
  • Understanding of Microsoft SQL and general database concepts, access, and other capabilities.
