The AC Marriott Boston Downtown- OPENING EARLY 2018- is seeking an experienced and passionate Sales and Catering Coordinator. The ideal candidate would have previous hotel sales and catering experience, and have a drive for success. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answer all incoming phone calls and pre-qualify leads in a timely and professional manner
  • Process all turnovers, prepare new client files, and properly close client files
  • Handle group blocks as assigned
  • Generate and distribute correspondence, group resume, BEO's, weekly reports and other sales reports as requested by sales team
  • Manage and update group rooming lists, event orders and resumes
  • Act as a liaison between Sales, Banquets and Front office teams
  • Provide administrative support to the sales team including, but not limited to, answering phones, correspondence, assigning activities, assisting in site tours and reports
  • Create and maintain all filing systems and back up files for records, reports, and documents
  • Participate in local networking organizations, community, and industry events as assigned
  • Represent Colwen Hotels professionally in community and industry events


Qualifications

  • Previous hotel experience preferred
  • Select service brand experience a plus
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Proficient in English language (bilingual a plus)
  • Excellent writing skills (grammar/punctuation/spelling)
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills (experience with Fosse systems)
  • Familiar with common computer software programs (Microsoft)
  • Must be willing to work weekends and holidays
  • May require overnight stays
  • Some work in office
  • Must be willing to work varied/flexible hours
