Description

Provide electrical engineering support for existing Total Artificial Heart System products in manufacturing and assist with design and analysis to ensure new products are designed and developed within performance, schedule and cost objectives.

  • Experience with embedded microprocessor-based systems hardware and firmware
  • Understanding of the use and limitations of test equipment including oscilloscope, multimeters, current probes and other electronic equipment
  • Able to develop diagnostic methods and tools required to improve troubleshooting and repair
  • Lithium-ion polymer battery experience is a plus
  • Experience with Software programming languages such as C / C++ /VB.NET/ C#.NET is a plus
  • Experience with remote programming control of test equipment and development of test fixtures is a plus

Performance Expectations

  • Assist in the sustaining engineering and improvement of existing Total Artificial Heart System products.
  • Analyze and perform general analog circuit design including signal conditioning for ADC and DAC's and sensor design or selection.
  • Analyze circuits containing microprocessor design, specifically Microchip PIC18.
  • Analyze and test systems containing Single Board Computer: embedded Linux / QNX for graphical user interface (GUI) design.
  • Familiarity with all circuit peripherals (watchdogs, timers, analog digital converters, pulse width modulators and oscillators.)
  • Participate in the research and development of next generation products.
  • Evaluate and understand electrical circuits used in Driver Systems.
  • Confirm electrical system and product electrical capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods.
  • Assist to create and revise product requirement specifications associated with electrical requirements.
