Manufacturing Engineer

Aerotek is currently supporting a large Aerospace & Defense Contractor in the Greater Charleston Region and there is an open position of a Manufacturing Engineer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analyze customer's digital product definitions, drawings, specifications, and P.O. requirements for implementation into the composite manufacturing process, provide technical support and lead engineering efforts with the manufacturing departments and customer.
• Develop and conduct research studies regarding process improvement and cost reduction.
• Determine test procedures, manpower requirements, equipment, tooling, schedules and overall cost.
• Prepare fabrication strategy and instructions with detailed illustration which prescribe a logical sequence of action in clear and concise language that can be used both by the manufacturing personnel for production and the customer for acceptance.
• Conduct critical design and performance reviews and final validation.
• Prepare estimates and recommendations for bids and proposals.
• Work with tooling manufacturer to conceptualize tooling designs.
• Create BOM's (Bill of Materials) needed and calculating quantities to support purchasing.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
• 3-5 years of experience within an Aerospace Manufacturer
• Must be experienced within BoM, CATIA V5, and cradle to grave projects
