A company in the Hampton Roads area is currently hiring for a Strategic Market Analyst for a full-time, Direct Hire placement.

Under minimal supervision, the Strategic Market Analyst is responsible for characterizing the company's marketplace, including market trends, competitor positioning and acquisition practices across the Federal Government. The position will facilitate introduction of the company product, services and solutions to contracting offices and systems. This information will support the strategic planning process, opportunity identification and qualification. This individual will also work closely with the federal business development team to gain market understanding. Reports to the Chief Operating Officer. This position is in our corporate office located in Virginia Beach, Virginia.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Use publicly available data, as well as subscription services, to analyze competitors and estimate revenue in market areas of interest
* Provide well detailed market research to leadership
* Assist in gathering market intelligence from different resources
* Develop customer profiles that capture leadership traits, organizational buying habits and preferred suppliers
* Work with proposal teams to provide competitive landscape and positioning
* Drive adoption and use of market analytics
* Maintain daily activities through Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database
* Daily monitoring of lead generation sites to identify new federal opportunities

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Marketing or a closely related field
* Three (3) or more years of current federal sales, business development or capture management
* Understanding of federal marketplace competitive landscape (Federal/Civilian, intelligence and defense markets)
* Demonstrated ability in gathering data from multiple, often disparate, sources and synthesizing raw data into meaningful reports and presentations
* Experience with the business development capture process
* Experience engaging directly with government program offices, government contracting offices and Federal Systems Integrators
* Must be proficient in technology usage and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint);
* Exceptional oral and written communication skills
