Controls Engineer

Aerotek is seeking controls engineers for a direct placement opportunity with a great client of ours in Louisville, KY.

Our client develops custom conveyor solutions for the material handling/baggage handling industries and are experiencing tremendous growth. They are also listening to the industry and have made major changes to combat the amount of traveling engineers have done in the field. They have since taken expected travel from 75% to 25% in the past year!

Our client has several openings due to growth, and are looking for controls engineers with experience in the material handling industry.

These engineers will be doing the PLC/HMI programming to complete design, development and commissioning of conveyor control systems for major clients.

Responsibilities:
PLC/GDU/HMI Programmer
-This person will be doing offline and on-site programming PLC's and integrating HMI's for various projects:

• conveyor/sortation integration and controls programming
• Programming Allen Bradley (RSLogix 5000, Controllogix, and upgrading PLC5 systems)
• Programming Rockwell or Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's) Powerflex
• Programming HMI applications such as Wonderware, Indusoft and RSview 32/ME/SE is CRITICAL for this position and their upcoming projects.
• Communication design with: controlnet, devicenet, profibus and Ethernet/IP
• Testing, commissioning and start up of these systems at sites across the US, including overtime and off shift work to ensure projects are completed on time.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 4 year degree in a related engineering field.
• MUST HAVE demonstrated experience in the industry with programming Allen Bradley/Rockwell PLC's for material handling or other similar applications that include high speed tracking (machine vision) and sortation.
  --Must be able to develop/troubleshoot HMI programs using the above technologies
  --Experience is needed in programming and setup of variable frequency drives
  --Must be able to set up communication networks between PLC's such as ethernet/IP
  --Experience with RSLogix 5000 software and Controllogix hardware are required for this position!!
  --Embedded and Software Engineers with material handling or similar industry experience are also welcome for these positions.
  --Troubleshooting and communication abilities are absolutely critical for this position because they will be in front of customers when they are in the field.
  --Ability to travel 25% to customer sites for testing and field commissioning.
