An Manufacturing company in Chandler, Arizona is currently hiring Mechanical Engineer for the design and development of modular data centers!

Requirements:

  • Mechanical engineering design and development for the manufactured modular data center using standard engineering principles, practices and techniques.
  • Develop, test and evaluate theoretical mechanical HVAC designs using research, analytical, conceptual and planning skills, particularly mathematical modeling and computer-aided design.
  • Evaluate current and alternate component manufacturers for equipment such as chillers, air handling units, pumps, piping, controls and instrumentation for continual product improvement and cost reduction.
  • Manage, specify, coordinate, and communicate engineering design changes with all units and outside vendors through clear and concise engineering documentation.
  • Assist with the application of products to meet preliminary and specific project requirements including sizing and specifying complete mechanical cooling systems.
  • Research and provide interpretation of applicable building code and ASHRAE standards.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of calculation methods for sizing chilled water cooling and air handling systems specific to data center applications.
  • Conduct energy studies using the Carrier HAP program.
  • Provide assistance with the development of all technical specifications, Bill of Materials and associated documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Graduate degree and/or PE license a plus.
  • Preferred 5+ years of experience in the design of mission critical cooling systems.
  • Experienced in designing HVAC products such as chillers, air handlers, etc.
  • Fundamental understanding of chilled water systems, DX, free air and evaporative cooling, master in the use of the psychrometric chart.
  • Experience in design, operation, and commissioning of chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, controls, security monitoring systems & life safety systems is desirable.
  • Understanding of design/build processes, ability to generate schematics, technical drawings and calculations.
  • Ability to travel.
