We are currently seeking an experienced, dynamic, and talented Vice President of Sales & Marketing to join the iContact team in Morrisville, NC. The VP, Sales & Marketing reports to the President and is a member of the company’s executive team. This role is responsible for the direction and management of all sales, marketing, communications and business development activities.

The VP, Sales & Marketing is a key leadership position that will drive the company’s achievement of its customer acquisition and revenue goals. Responsible for the management and direction of all functions within the Sales and Marketing Departments Must have demonstrated experience in software/technology with a proven track record for generating demand, closing sales and exceeding goals. Our ideal candidate is an accomplished sales and marketing leader with experience building strategic, analytical, and creative teams with a strong focus on revenue.

Responsibilities:
  • Develops, implements and optimizes cohesive global revenue strategy across sales and marketing.
  • Oversees day-to-day sales operations including direct management of new business sales and lead development teams.
  • Oversees day-to-day marketing strategy including oversight of demand generation, marketing communications, branding, product marketing and retention marketing.
  • Builds cohesive teams of sales, marketing, and lead generation specialists to help drive sales goals.
  • Prepares, tracks and reports annual & quarterly marketing and sales plan(s).
  • Ensures marketing is growing a sales pipeline by creating, executing and leading the demand generation strategy using best-of-breed digital marketing techniques.
  • Manages, motivates and provides leadership to high-performing sales and marketing teams.
  • Establishes sales targets for all sales team members to achieve company objectives.
  • Actively participates and/or leads cross-company efforts to maximize customer retention and reduce churn by driving engagement throughout the customer lifecycle.
  • Manages and implements best practice sales process(es) through prospecting, lead qualification, forecasting, account strategy and solution positioning.
  • Works directly with sales team members to close deals.
  • Identifies business opportunities to sell and close new deals, for driving revenue growth.
  • Identifies opportunities to increase brand visibility and position iContact as a trusted email solutions provider to small and mid-size business.
  • Actively participates in the definition of new iContact products and services and/or strategic alliances. Works with Product Management to address competitive feature gaps.
  • Forecasts, measures, analyzes, and reports on the impact of overall marketing activities.
  • Collaborates with corporate finance on budget, compensation, performance, and pipeline to aid in the development of revenue and budget projections.
  • Accountable for meeting lead, revenue and profitability targets for the sales and marketing teams, through execution of corporate sales strategies.
  • Maintains accurate up-to-date sales pipeline, forecasts, and other customer management functions using CRM and BI applications.
  • Represents iContact at key events. Including, but not limited to prospect, customer and partner events.
  • Stays up-to-day on current competitors and potential strategic partners or alliances.
  • Applies competitive insights to our sales and marketing strategies.

Requirements:
  • 10+ year’s experience in sales management/leadership role (with at least 5 years overseeing marketing), combined with proven success working for small, high growth, fast-paced B2B and/or SaaS companies
  • MBA or Master’s degree highly preferred
  • Proven ability in managing sales cycles from start to finish, with a track record of successful revenue attainment.
  • Fundamental understanding of overall SaaS business model including roles of sales and marketing as it relates to revenue optimization through lead generation, customer acquisition and customer lifecycle marketing.
  • Must have successfully sold and marketed software and/or technology.
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing industry and ecosystem. Familiarity with email and/or marketing automation space a strong plus.
  • Ability to analyze data – micro and macro - and drive short and midterm strategies.
  • Track record of building, leading, motivating and managing high-performing sales and marketing teams.
  • Experience with demand generation annual budgets in excess of $5MM.
  • Experience marketing to SMB is desirable.
  • Experience selling both products and services is essential.
  • Proficient at both informal and formal presentations. Able to communicate effectively, both written and oral.
  • Ability to serve as the public-facing representative of iContact.
  • Ability to build and foster long-term business relationships.
  • Strong organizational, planning, presentation and time management skills.
  • Can lead, stay focused and drive team productivity in a fast paced and changing environment.
