Schedule: Mon.-Sat. 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 32-40 hours per week
This is a temporary position starting immediately and working through the end of October
Job Duties
• Make caramel and other candy products from scratch in a food manufacturing environment following specific recipes.
• Monitor and cook candy according to directions.
• Clean prep area and cooking area as needed.
• Ability to follow formal Food Safety and Sanitation Programs.
• Ability to follow Temperature and Weight calibration procedures.
• Use in-house computer system to manage batches and ingredients.
• Ability to safely use and operate high capacity cooking equipment.
Requirements
• Read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Accurately use Windows Based recipe system to create batches.
• Must be able to lift 50 lb. bags of ingredients repeatedly.
• Good mathematical ability related to scaling recipes and general kitchen math.
• Must have good organizational skills, be able to measure accurately, read and understand directions, read a scale for weighed ingredients, read a thermometer, and document results.
• Culinary attire required.
• This facility processes the following allergens: peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, wheat, and soy. This position requires tolerance of working with and around these allergens.
• Background check required.
Experience• Minimum 1 year commercial cooking or baking experience required (restaurant, hotel, bakery, manufacturing, or class/educational program, etc.).
• Formal culinary training is a plus.
