Summary
Prep Cook assists in the preparation and assembly of food production items, performs task to include (Mise en place and preparation of recipes, general cleaning duties and storing food and non-food supplies, documentation of all necessary company and government required information (check lists).

Duties and Responsibilities
Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Executes food Mise en place (preparation, measuring, chopping, slicing, dicing, cutting, peeling, blending, mixing of sub and prep recipes.
  • Ensuring that sub recipes and recipes are assembled to spec as outlined in the production recipe.
  • Ensures that all work surfaces, equipment, small wares, tools, carts are clean and sanitized.
  • Ensures that all products are properly wrapped dated and stored as outlined by our SOP’s and GMP’s
  • Performs all regulatory related duties as outlined by our food safety plan (monitoring, recovering, labeling)
  • Performs all necessary cleaning duties as outlined in our food safety plan (cleaning and sanitizing work spaces, tables, equipment, tools) to include trash removal to designated areas kitchen maintenance; emptying the trash, mopping floors and washing dishes.
  • Learns and adheres to the designated preparation, assembly, cooking and cooling methods to assist in preparing the appropriate menu items consistently.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested by the FLT at any time.
  • Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
Required Skills
  • 6 months cooking experience preferred.
  • Must be genuine, outgoing, upbeat, positive and model appearance standards.
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to learn basic knowledge of all products carried in the department.
  • Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness.
  • Ability to work positively in a fast-paced environment, Ability to multitask, Strive for excellence.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, Self Esteem.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Ability to be on your feet and alert for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. as needed.
  • Continuous use of hands and arms. Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders. Bend and twist neck and waist, reach above and below shoulders and squat.
  • Available for flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the department.
  • Environmental exposure to extreme temperatures (Coolers, ovens, Freezer, etc.)
  • Must be able to work legally.
