B on Canal is seeking a Food & Beverage Manager who will be responsible for the effective management and direction of the day-to-day operations of the restaurant and banquets functions in reference to quality service, revenue maximization, cost control, supervision of associates, monitoring quality and consistency of food production, and inventory.
  • Supervise associates for efficient day-to-day operation. Organize and conduct pre-meal and departmental meetings to communicate pertinent information to associates, such as house count, events and menu changes. Relay pertinent information to managers, such as guest comments and associate requests.
  • Responsible for reviewing resumes, daily/weekly BEOs to determine appropriate staffing level, station assignments and meeting room set-ups.
  • Communicate any and all changes with the Food & Beverage/Culinary teams and other supportive departments prior to and during events.
  • Responsible for the appropriate and timely set up of all functions and meetings while maintaining standards of food, beverage and meeting specifications.
  • Communicate with team regarding daily events and activities to ensure a successful transition from one function to another.
  • Assist Executive Chef & B in the direction and supervision of associates in reference to schedules, service standards, training, motivation, and safety.
  • Assist in ensuring that we are in compliance with sanitation and safety standards for guests and associates. Check that all equipment is in working order. Visually inspect and take action to ensure that facilities look appealing and attractive to guests. Coordinates with Housekeeping and Engineering to ensure the highest level of product delivery.
  • Monitor product quality and guest satisfaction. Ensure that food quality is consistent, appealing, and prepared to guest specifications. Interact with guests to obtain feedback on quality of service and food.
  • Document inventory, forecast usage and monitor supply to ensure there is enough linen, glassware, silverware, and china, to provide service.
  • Maintain accurate par levels and inventory of supplies and equipment within the department.
  • Assist in the continual training of all associates.
Job Requirements
  • Must have at least 1 year experience in F&B and Banquet management role.
  • Fine Dining Experience preferred.
  • Hotel experience is preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of food and beverage operations including supervisory aspects, service techniques, and guest interaction.
  • Excellent organizational, customer service and problem resolution skills
  • Ability to work days, evenings, weekends, holidays under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Must have the ability to bend, squat and frequently lift 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • May be required to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 30 lbs.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
