PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Sr. Database Marketing Analyst takes a lead role in creating and implementing relevant campaign and analytic solutions for internal marketing initiatives (such as direct marketing) to promote more successful outcomes in our efforts to acquire, grow and retain customers and to understand and enhance their experience with T. Rowe Price. This role is responsible for partnering with the Senior Marketing Management and Segment Group Managers in order to provide fact-based insights to our customers and prospects to guide future marketing initiatives and to develop solutions that meet business objectives.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Support multi-channel direct marketing campaigns using analytics and campaign management software for targeting and segmenting customers and prospects, test design, marketing optimization, and profitability analyses. Provide strategic interpretation of findings across projects, both quantitative and qualitative, and provide actionable recommendations to further enterprise business plans. Link results to behavioral data where possible.

Capture and maintain critical information to improve business processes and growth and retention strategies. Create and maintain dashboards and reports with key metrics to measure business success. Provide interpretation of these reports, highlighting trends or changes in data and key metrics to ensure that the business quickly processes their impact on our business from a measurement and opportunity perspective.

Ensure that Marketing has access to the applications (including client analytics and campaign management software tools) and insights to achieve and measure business objectives by developing project definition (e.g. marketing test design) in partnership with Marketing Managers for multiple, concurrent projects. These may include combinations of new data topics and elements, primary and secondary research, and external data. The position defines the initiative’s constraints and deliverables. Leads project from inception to final business acceptance and implementation. In addition, progress against the plan will be reported to Marketing Managers on a periodic basis.

Leverage Market Intelligence and Competitive Intelligence from a variety of sources including Forrester Research, Cerulli and Strategic Insights to discover, quantify and display activities and trends that effect T. Rowe Price business initiatives. Compare and contrast those external activities and trends with those we are seeing from internal customer and prospect behaviors captured in our data repositories and production systems. Report on these trends and interpret their impact and importance to our business. Disseminate these findings to Marketing management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred
  • Experience with Adobe Campaign, Analytics, Data Workbench tools
  • Advanced degree (Masters)
  • In depth investment industry experience, particularly mutual funds
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Ability to manage complex model development with external partners
  • Prior IT experience a plus
Required
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Familiarity with a variety of statistical and data mining techniques including: cluster-based segmentations, discrete choice/conjoint, multivariate and logistic regressions and decision trees.

  • Possess strong organizational and project management skills
  • Undergraduate degree in analytical major such as economics, finance, statistics, mathematics, marketing research, or an applied social science and 2 years related work experience in applied quantitative functions.
  • College degree and 2 years of related work experience, or
  • Associate degree and 4 years related work experience, or
  • High School diploma/equivalent and 6 years related work experience
