Job Description

Provide engineering, construction, planning, and project management for installation of EV Charging Stations, Solar Power Installations, and Compressed Natural Gas Facilities. Manage all phases of project execution including technical design, equipment procurement, construction management, contract administration, project commissioning and change order negotiations. Project Manager will manage the external design firms, equipment vendors, as well as lead coordination of utility service providers. Active and continuing communication of project’s status to all key stakeholders internally and externally to clients.  Finally, ensure proper transition to Operations at the completion of each project or program.

 

Major Responsibilities

  • Monitor, manage, and coordinate the planning and execution of the projects with focus on safety, project scheduling and budget management. Implement procedures for effective control of project activities to ensure projects stays on schedule and within budget.
  • Detailed understanding of drafting software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks, system data sources, and design models. Collaborate with external design and engineering firms to generate project construction drawings.
  • Coordinate design and manage delivery schedule of major equipment orders with manufacturers to ensure construction schedule is maintained. Coordination with internal procurement department for minor equipment.
  • Support field construction team with review of submittals and response to requests for information from contractors and clients.
  • Negotiate with utility service providers, contractors and land owners to reach acceptable technical and economic conclusions.
  • Coordinate with detailed engineering and costing team to finalize design and cost and transition to construction phase
  • Lead procurement of permits to construct facilities.  Provide station review and support with final station closeout documentation.
  • Identify key project milestones, challenges, obstacles, and solutions for upcoming tasks to be accomplished.
  • Produce project reports and budget variance overviews for internal management containing performance metrics related to schedule, budget and efficiency.
  • Uses appropriate interpersonal skills and communication methods to build constructive relationships with customers, business units, service organizations and other stakeholders to meet shared goals and objectives.

 

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or Project Management.
  • Electrical Engineering Degree or experience with Electrical systems preferred.

Experience:

  • 3+ years’ experience with engineering design of industrial equipment or infrastructure which may include ASME, ASTM, welding and electrical codes, piping systems, structural design.
  • 3+ years’ experience with project management, process optimization, and improvement.
  • 3+ years’ experience with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and Project.
  • 3+ years’ experience with EV Charging, Solar Power Systems, and/or CNG Fueling operations.
