Production Specialist – Quality Inspection

Summary: Ensures conformance to defined standards through the inspection of rims and wheels.  Helps improve quality by providing feedback to Operations (Leads & Operators) and Engineering on non-conformances.

Job Location:

Indianapolis, IN – Park 100 area

 

Shift Schedule:

1st: Monday-Friday 7am-3pm

2nd: Monday-Friday 3pm-11pm

 

Pay Rate:

1st: $12-13/hr based on experience

2nd: $12.50-13.50/hr based on experience

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Inspect in-process and final assembly parts and document results of inspections
  • Works with Leads and Operators both directly and within the Indy Tier system to share results of inspection findings and determine appropriate reaction
  • Asks for assistance when conformance to standards is not clear
  • Participate on problem solving teams to help determine defect root causes and assist in developing quality improvements

 

Education / Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year General Laborer experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Excellent attention to detail required
  • Fluency in spoken English and basic English reading skills required
  • Excellent communication skills required:
    • Verbally explain problems that are found
    • Understand and follow verbal and written instructions
    • Ability to interact with Leads, Operators, Engineers, Supervisors, & Quality personnel
  • High School degree or equivalent preferred
  • Experience with measuring equipment such as calipers & micrometers are preferred.
  • Logical problem-solving skills are required
  • Ability to use and learn computer systems is required. 
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Excel preferred.
