Express Employment Professionals is looking for a Project Administrator for a general contracting company in Buffalo, NY!

 

The Project Administrator will be responsible for the administration of assigned construction project(s) and coordinating the work of project team members to ensure projects meet the intended purpose, final costs are as anticipated at project scoping, and construction is scheduled and completed within anticipated completion date.

 

Pay: $15/hour

Hours: 8:30am to 5:00pm

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates the work of project team members to ensure project is on schedule, within anticipated project costs, and upon completion meets intended purpose. Interpret and explain contracts and technical information to workers and other professionals
  • Develops project master schedule, monitors project progress, makes periodic progress reports and coordinates the schedules of design consultants and design reviews
  • Prepares preliminary cost estimates, modifications and costs associated with scope changes prior to actual construction
  • Performs construction administration, including: project tracking, evaluating acceptability of rates of progress on the work (construction), and ensuring all required construction documentation is obtained. Reviews and processes contractor payment requests, including equitable adjustments and when necessary, resolves payment disputes
  • Additional construction administration duties include: Job Setup, Submittals, RFI, Project Contracts, Purchase Orders, Monthly Reporting, Billings, and Project Closeout
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other construction and building specialists. Report on work progress and budget matters to clients
  • Comply with legal requirements, building and safety codes, and other regulations
  • Provide administrative support to members of the organization as requested or required

 

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Greeting visitors and maintaining a professional office environment
  • Ensure reception area is a clean, safe and presentable for all members of staff, clients and other visitors
  • Switchboard operation to direct calls to the appropriate personnel in a timely and efficient manner. All calls are to be screened with respect to the caller’s name, company, and nature of the call. This information is to be provided to the staff personnel by intercom when requested or voice mail
  • Ensure all office machinery and equipment is maintained and serviced
  • Prepare budget and order office supplies in accordance with the established budget. Maintain inventory control of office supplies
  • Maintain confidentiality of issues and of materials received and exercise a high level of discretion and judgment in dealing effectively with all parties concerned
  • Request and prepare close-out documents for projects
  • Update/renewal/re-certify licenses and permits
  • Available to work flexible hours including nights and weekends

 

Qualifications:

  • Two years of project administration experience or equivalent related work experience
  • Computer literacy in all basic computer programs
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, strong written communication skills are also required with the ability to independently compose clear correspondence, reports and other documentation
