Our Exciting Work Environment

The Gideon Putnam is an historic destination located within Saratoga Spa State Park. Delaware North manages the resort and dining services, as well as the famous Roosevelt Baths and Spa.

The resort boasts 124 rooms, all with views of the park, as well as 12,000 square feet of event space and an on-site restaurant, Putnam's. 

This upstate New York destination combines more than 75 years of historic character with exceptional service and modern facilities. We are looking to enhance our staff in Putnam's Restaurant with an additional Line Cook.

The Opportunity

Produce and execute all hot food items on restaurant menu for appropriate shift(s)

Responsibilities

 

  • Complete all prep work as related to shift for hot line
  • Prepare all orders exactly as ordered and to chefs' specifications
  • Responsible for the delivery of high quality, attractively presented food to our guests in a timely manner
  • Adhere to ServSafe procedures and label, date, wrap and rotate all product (FIFO)
  • Able to work safely and securely in a manner that protects the integrity and safety of the guest, associates and hotel
  • Clean entire station before leaving, which includes all surfaces – tops, fronts and sides of all equipment       
  • Maintain under counter cooler and shelves on daily basis for cleanliness and organization
  • Assist with food prep for banquets and/or pantry as needed
  • Ensures compliance with all corporate policies and procedures to ensure guest satisfaction                              
Qualifications

 

  • Possess knowledge of Culinary Arts
  • Memorize preparation instructions
  • Proven ability to read and comprehend documents such as menus, recipes, production schedules, reports, and procedure manuals
  • Always follow all standardized recipes  
  • Able to attend to work reliably 
  • Proven ability to multi-task and take direction
  • Ability to lead and train by example; ensuring compliance with standards, rules, and regulations
Physical Requirements

 

  • Lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds with frequent twisting, bending and reaching
  • Able to work longer than 8 hours when necessary
