Southland Park Gaming & Racing, owned and operated by Delaware North, features more than 1,900 video gaming machines, electronic blackjack tables, a poker room, live greyhound racing and simulcast wagering.  Southland Park is located in West Memphis, Arkansas, only a short drive from downtown Memphis, Tennessee.

The Opportunity

The Sammy’s Red Rocker Bartender serves alcohol beverages to guests responsibly, in accordance with the Company’s alcohol policies, GuestPath Universal Service Standards and applicable Operational Standards. Must be 21 years old. Must be able to obtain an Arkansas Racing License.

Essential Functions:

• Entertains and greets guests at bar and supplies guests with menus
• Communicates daily specials, answers questions about menu items, Sammy Hagar, and takes beverage and/or food orders
• Mixes and serves alcohol and non-alcohol drinks for patrons following standard recipes and using company standardized proportions; serves wine, mixes cocktails, serves bottled beer or draws draught beer.
• Serves alcohol beverages responsibly, requests identification, adheres to all unit and company alcohol service policies and procedures.
• Enters drink and food orders into cash register, collects payment from patrons and makes correct change.
• Picks up drinks and food when orders are ready and delivers orders to guests
• Observes and follows-up with guests to respond if they require additional service
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Adheres to Sammy’s Image Standards
• Pose for photos to be used in print and promotional materials
• Pose for photos at marketing and promotional events

Education & Experience:

• One to two years previous experience as a bartender in a high volume environment or sports bar preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to provide the Rock Star Factor: energetic, outgoing, entertaining, professional, being talented in the field, turning heads with your style, entertaining the crowd and having the look.
• Excellent guest service skills; ability to adhere to Company’s GuestPath Universal Service Standards
• Ability to complete required pre-employment alcohol service training
• Basic math skills, with ability to accurately total guest checks and make correct change.
• Possess basic knowledge of standard drink recipes and alcohol brand names.
• Verbal communication skills; listening skills with ability to take beverage orders and fill those orders correctly.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to remain standing for entire length of shift
• Constant walking, bending, reaching and repetitive motions. 
• Ability to lift stock up to 75 pounds occasionally.

Environmental Working Conditions:

• Variable temperatures – required to move between hot, noisy conditions of kitchen and climate-controlled dining environment
• Bar environment- noise level may be moderate to high during busy times
• Ability to work in a smoking environment
