Position Details

Candidates must be 18 years or older at time of interview. Hours vary by event schedule, flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays required. 

The Casual Bullgang (PT) is an active member of the conversion/changeover crew involved in conversion responsibilities and efficient changeovers between events, including concerts, hockey and basketball games and family shows.

This position is responsible for office and arena requests for change over movements including set up of rooms, tables, chairs, conversion of black walls, among others. Additionally, this position is responsible for maintaining the ice surface, dasher boards and glass to NHL specifications, maintaining the equipment in the Ice Resurfacers, assisting the engineering and maintenance departments as needed.  Individual must be able to work independently, as well as within a team dynamic. 

Responsibilities include:

Responsible for working with a team to convert and prepare the arena for events, including installing hockey glass, parquet floor, basketball netting, staging and risers.

Office requests changeovers and conversions, including set up or rooms, movement of tables, chairs, furniture etc

Assist with daily maintenance and upkeep of department equipment such as risers, basketball parquet floor and hoops, dressing room furniture and miscellaneous others.

Different repair procedures (wall preparation, tile replacement and repair)

May operate various pieces of equipment based on specific associate certifications obtained, specifically a lift license (fork lifts, man lifts, tractors)

Working knowledge of mechanical systems (tractors, MSL units)

Working knowledge of hydraulic systems (door systems, movable units, lifts)

Maintain ice surface, dasher boards and dasher glass up to NHL standards

Oversee the installation and painting of the ice prior to start of NHL season and make any necessary adjustments throughout the year.

Responsible for daily logs including but not limited to ice depth checks, slab temperature, ice temperature, building temperature and water chemistry.

May serve as Ice Resurfacer driver (only if certification is obtained) during all hockey games and is responsible for identifying and resolving issues.

Perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance on ice related equipment.

Plan, organize and purchase materials necessary to maintain ice sheet and equipment.

Assist the engineering and maintenance department with general repairs and projects.

Act as a liaison between building and team regarding ice conditions.

 

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent, related experience desired

Knowledge of staging and production equipment desired

Forklift operation experience preferred, however commercial Driver License for Forklift operation required.

Lift license preferred (must have certification to operate various pieces of equipment throughout property).

Ability to lift and carry over 100 pounds.

Ability to walk and stand and on feet for extended periods of time during a shift; use of both hands and legs required

Ability to adhere to different physical positions throughout shift, including bending, stooping, heavy lifting and exposure to adverse conditions, including inclement weather, loud crowd noise, dust and variable temperatures

Must be able to operate power tools, ensure safety of others and demonstrate leadership for a safe working environment

Able to work within a time sensitive environment

Ability to coordinate crew assignments and tasks

Ability to work well with others in various departments.

Working knowledge of different painting systems (polymix, clear coat )

Availability to work different shifts

Ability to complete assigned tasks on a timely basis

Certified ice resurfacer training (CIT) within 1 year of employment (FT)

Available to work flexible hours required; must be responsible for own transportation to and from property.
