Position Details

Prepare and serve food items according to specifications in an efficient manner while displaying the highest standard of guest service in accordance with the Company’s GuestPath Universal Service and Operations Standards.  Performs attendant and cashier duties in assigned venue. 

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare and serve food items according to recipes and quality standards in assigned venue
  • Maintain current knowledge of daily menus and prices
  • Maintain knowledge of the Point of Sale System
  • Accurately complete all transactions (cash and non cash) and return accurate change to guests
  • Obtain cash bank; verify accuracy at the beginning, end, and throughout a shift
  • Balance revenue drop to end of shift reports
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for guests and fellow associates
  • Complete stock order of all product and supplies needed
  • Perform as a team member and assist fellow associates to ensure a smooth operation
  • Greet guests positively, treating each person as an individual and in a professional manner
  • Prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Experience Required:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • One to three months related experience preferred
  • WV Food Handlers Card required
  • West Virginia Racing commission License required 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Basic math skills including addition and subtraction
  • Handle money transactions
  • Excellent guest service abilities required
  • Demonstrate skill in dealing with guest complaints, using active listening skills to defuse difficult and sometimes emotionally charged situations to maintain the guest’s goodwill
  • Understand the goals and vision of the organization, and demonstrate commitment to those goals in terms of individual and team performance
  • Strong communication and leadership skills required
  • Role model the GuestPath Universal Service Standards interacting positively through relationships with guests, coworkers, and supervisors displaying genuine concern and mutual respect for people’s needs 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift or carry 30 pounds
  • Ability to stand or walk 100% of the time 

Environmental Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to secondhand smoke
  • Exposure to high volume noise
  • Exposure to extreme heat
