Oversee and organize the maintenance personnel to ensure repairs are addressed and the facility operates in a safe manner
Essential Functions:
Enforce all departmental and organizational policies and procedures
Maintain a safe work and customer environment
Supervise maintenance personnel to ensure all repairs are addressed
Prepare requisition forms to maintain uninterrupted productivity
Prioritize work orders to ensure efficiency
Inspect the racetrack operations and address any issues
Inspect and evaluate the physical appearance of the facility and coordinate with management for repairs
Report and address any unsafe conditions or environment
Assist in the evaluation of new equipment for purchase
Perform routine inspections of facility and prepare necessary work orders or reports
Assist in the training and scheduling of staff
Supervise work through planning and scheduling of work assignments and performance development
Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge and skill
Prioritize tasks, handles multiple projects simultaneously, organize and delegate assignments
Role model the skills of customer service and interact positively through relationships with customers, coworkers, and supervisors displaying genuine concern and mutual respect for people’s needs
Greet customers positively, treating each person as an individual and in a professional manner
Demonstrate skill in dealing with customer complaints, using active listening skills to defuse difficult and sometimes emotionally charged situations to maintain the customer’s goodwill
Understand the goals and vision of the organization, and demonstrate commitment to those goals in terms of individual and team performance
Complete other duties as assigned
Experience Required:
High school diploma or GED required
Associate’s degree from a two-year college or technical school preferred
One to two years related experience required
Minimum of one-year supervisory experience required
Knowledge of facility maintenance principles and repair techniques preferred
Knowledge in electric, HVACR, plumbing/fitting, welding/fabricating, track maintenance, and cleaning preferred
Current motor vehicle license required
West Virginia Racing Commission License required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and percentages
Basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and e-mail preferred
Physical Requirements:
Standing, walking, kneeling and climbing 100% of the time
Work on ladders and platforms
Exposure to weather and temperature extreme
Local travel as deemed necessary
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
Environmental Working Conditions:
Exposure to outdoor weather conditions in all seasons, including variable extreme temperatures and wet and/or humid conditions.
Occasionally exposed to fumes and toxic or caustic chemicals and dirt/dust.
Occasionally exposed to noise level which may be moderate to high
Work environment will expose you to second hand smoke.
Able to work in and wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
May be exposed to dog dander.
