Summary / Objective:  Responsible for achieving revenue goals and profitability of the catering segment through the development of sales strategies/tactics and leadership of the catering sales team.  Leads a team of Sales Professionals and have a measurable impact on our ability to continue to grow and build sales by guiding the Boston Market Catering Sales Department. Builds the brand’s service strategy and applicable brand initiatives in all aspects of the sales and catering process. Provides leadership to RCSD’s and RCSM’s to deliver results and provide leadership to develop and execute initiatives specific to the catering revenue center.

Essential Functions: 
  • Meets/exceeds annual revenue targets through the development, advancement and closure of client partnerships.

  • Ensures high retention of existing accounts through adept post-campaign account management and education around new product enhancements.

  • Independently develops and delivers sales presentations that educates prospective clients on catering value proposition, roadmap, and partnership opportunities. 

  • Develop sales training program; including curriculum and assessment of training needs for both new and existing RSCD, RCSM and CSS levels.

  • Assists C Suite in setting the strategic vision for the catering sales department and owns the execution of key departmental projects.

  • Identifies and builds relationships with key prospects such as brand executives, managers and administrative professionals through cold calling, networking and referrals.

  • Partners with other functional teams to ensure client campaigns are successfully executed from start to finish.

  • Learns and leverages key principles of the sales model to maintain control of challenging and complex client opportunities.

  • Builds collaborative partnerships with Regional VP’s and Regional Directors and Regional Operators to ensure the catering team has the support and guidance needed to deliver results.

  • Reviews quarterly sales / statistical metrics and owns Catering Sales budget.

  • Responsible for the training and development of the RCSD and RCSM teams.

  • Partner with the necessary business units on the development, management, and execution of an integrated marketing campaign for the catering channel.

  • Partners with the necessary business units to optimize the usage of the CRM.

  • Attracts, recruits, leads, and retains a team of Regional Catering Sales Directors, Regional Catering Sales Managers (RCSM) and Catering Sales Specialists (CSS). 

  • Invests in growing each RCSD and RCSM through regularly scheduled touch bases and performance evaluations.

  • Provides guidance to RCSDs and RCSMs in identifying market-appropriate tactics and solutions to catering issues.

  • Diagnoses and advises on situational awareness of market revenue challenges raised by RCSD and RCSM.

  • Communicates brand standards to RCSD and RCSM’s who will ensure they are met in the execution of their teams caterings.

  • Establishes and maintains long-term relationships with all Support Center and Field personnel.

  • Works additional hours as necessary.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, hours of work and days are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; additional hours may be required for business needs.

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. 

  • 8 years of sales experience.

  • 5 years of experience supervising employees. 

  • 5 years of experience interpreting business goals and applying techniques and strategies to expedite the achievement of those goals.

  • 2 years of experience interacting and creating relationships with internal and external customers of all levels and skill sets.

  • 2 years of experience using a PC and MC Office Suite, including intermediate proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 5 years of experience supervising sales employees.

  • 5 years of experience with CRM software such as Oracle or Salesforce. 

  • 5 years of restaurant sales experience.
