Marketing Manager

Molly’s Suds is a fast-growing company in the natural consumer products space. We are currently seeking a new addition to our team that is driven with high energy, social media savvy and millennial minded, local to our area and going to be on fire for our brand. We encourage creativity, camaraderie, outside-the-box thinking in a non-corporate and small business atmosphere.

Overview:

Coordinates and implements marketing communication projects with responsibilities that include public relations, advertising, content curation and creation, and amplifying brand awareness via social platforms. Applies creative skills and an exciting personality to overall brand voice. Attention to maximizing ROI with all marketing efforts. Continually prepares and analyzes data to improve upon marketing efforts. Applies standard marketing concepts, best practices, and procedures. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under limited supervision.

Knowledge/Skills Requirements:

  • 3+ years’ Experience with social media channels, management tools like Hootsuite or CoSchedule and generating social media content required
  • Consumer product background
  • Natural products experience a plus
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications required, Google applications a plus
  • Excellent organizational, communication, writing and proofreading skills are required
  • Time management and multiple project prioritization skills are a must. Ability to be proactive and a driven self-starter. Must work well with other team members and contributes positively to company culture and environment.
  • Must have the ability to work well in a fast-paced, high growth environment.
  • HTML and Adobe Creative Suite proficiency a plus. Graphic design experience a plus
  • Solid understanding of marketing execution and lead gen including digital, inbound, and events a must
  • Analytical skills a must. Google Analytics proficiency a plus
  • Experience with WordPress and general website content management a plus
  • Email marketing experience a plus

Job Duties

 

Social Media

 

  • Manages and monitors all social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram
  • Performs responsibilities daily including drafting copy, curating content, designing graphics and posting to social media pages, and monitoring brand mentions and keywords using CoSchedule
  • Maintains a social media strategy and schedules posts ahead of time on a weekly basis using a social media management tool like CoSchedule
  • Develops and maintains Molly's Suds' exciting, fun brand personality across social media platforms
  • Researches, promotes and engages with retailers, influencers and other brands across social media
  • Monitors and analyzes competitor accounts to improve the social media strategy
  • Co-markets with other brands to grow social media audiences by coordinating and managing contests, giveaways and sales
  • Performs customer service and further marketing by engaging with fans' comments and posts and answering direct messages
  • Reviews social media analytics to continually improve upon efforts and gain more knowledge and insights about the audience and strategize. Improves targeting efforts as the audience becomes more defined.
  • Implements and monitors tracking tools for campaigns. Monitors and reports upon the ROI of campaigns by implementing and maintaining tracking code on the website to review what generated visitors, engagement and sales on the website.
  • Researches and stays abreast of social media trends in the industry to get ahead of the ever-changing social media landscape. Researches and compares social media tools and third party companies to assist with growth efforts. Researches and applies new ways to engage with social media followers and continuously grow the fan base.
  • Designs and manages campaigns for social media paid advertising. Reviews analytics associated with advertising campaigns to learn and improve upon future campaigns. Adheres to a budget and improves upon effectiveness of campaigns while working to reduce overall spend. Records and maintains analytics of all campaigns utilizing spreadsheets
  • Ensures social media platform rules are followed to avoid compromising account statuses, i.e. no like-gating and ensuring rules are followed when running contests and giveaways

 

Graphic Design and Marketing Materials

 

  • Creates and updates marketing collateral on an ongoing basis, such as postcards, sales sheets, business cards, etc.
  • Works with third party graphic designers to assist with creating and updating materials when necessary. Offers verbiage, content and direction throughout the design process. Reviews and edits designs to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Utilizes tools such as Canva or Photoshop to design graphical materials
  • Ensures materials are up to date and maintain consistent branding
  • Manages marketing collateral inventory and maintains timelines to ensure deadlines are adhered to
  • Coordinates design with outsourced company to design materials for trade shows, customer events, etc. Designs banners, tablecloths, signs and other materials for the company booth, utilizing a third-party designers and printers when necessary. Evaluates and compiles printing and design resources to ensure budgets are adhered to and quality is met
  • Takes pictures and graphically enhances them for digital content when necessary. Researches and vets third party photographers, videographers, etc. when necessary

 

Website

  • Edits provided content and provides ideas for content for blog posts and other web content
  • Works with and manages a third-party marketing company to implement website development items while utilizing and maximizing the retainer in place. Provides direction, content and ideas to the marketing company when needed. Ensures timelines and quality by managing and communicating with the marketing company on a weekly basis. Ensures updates and general maintenance of website is being performed.
  • Continuously seeks advice and insight from the marketing company as to how the website functionality and customer experience can be improved upon. Reviews new plug-in recommendations.
  • Has a general knowledge of WordPress and can perform simple improvements. Requests and utilizes training from the marketing company to perform repetitive tasks, such as adding new products to the website and running sales. Maintains brand consistency across the website.
  • QA's and tests all website improvements and changes performed by the marketing company. Ensures the customer experience is optimized across all browsers and devices. Acts upon urgent matters or technical issues that may arise by alerting the marketing company if necessary
  • Continuously provides and implements fresh content and ideas to improve the website's ranking in search engines, relevance and engagement by visitors. Researches trends in the natural space and general marketing to improve website
  • Gathers and utilizes sales reports to determine the ROI and effectiveness of website efforts; Maintains an ongoing record of analytics in spreadsheets. Has a basic understanding of analytics in order to continuously improve efforts
  • Has a basic understanding of SEO and improves upon SEO efforts using the marketing company if necessary
  • Monitors affiliate campaign codes and works with finance to ensure payments are made to affiliates

 

Paid Advertising/Media Buying and Co-marketing

 

  • Maintains and monitors ongoing advertising campaigns to ensure deliverables and expectations are met. Reviews effectiveness of campaigns by requesting reports and analytics to aid in decision making
  • Researches and vets new advertising opportunities by reviewing media kits, seeking suggestions and advice from fellow brands in the same space, and vetting direct advertising offers. Works with upper management to review and approve high dollar advertising while adhering to the budget
  • Works with influencers and other brands to negotiate, plan and implement co-marketing and trade-offs. Researches and finds new opportunities to grow the audience and brand via co-marketing efforts and affiliate advertising
  • Manages product review requests by bloggers, works with the Shipping Coordinator to ship materials to bloggers, and follows up with bloggers to manage the reviews
  • Creates and compiles marketing content, graphics and other materials needed by advertisers to set up campaigns. Ensures branding and personality is maintained across the board.
  • Manages certifications, such as Certified Vegan and Leaping Bunny, to maximize all associated advertising
  • Maintains an advertising calendar for visibility and tracking of campaigns


 

Email Marketing

 

  • Creates email campaigns for direct customers once a month on average and once a quarter on average for retailers, using email tools like Active Campaign
  • Must have a good grasp of email marketing rules and the CAN-SPAM Act to ensure compliancy and maintain email integrity. Monitors bounce-backs and unsubscribes to ensure the strength and growth of lists
  • Drafts and edits email marketing copy. Designs graphic elements, maintains brand and creates overall messaging for email campaigns
  • Manages and maintains email contact databases, as well as develops campaigns to continually grow email subscriber lists digitally and at events
  • Reviews analytics of email campaigns to improve upon email efforts and offer recommendations for optimization. Performs split testing to hone in on what really resonates with the audience
  • Works with Customer Service to ensure the retailer list is up to date and acts on any direct requests to be added or removed from all lists

 

General Duties

  • Attends industry expos, trade shows, and customer events as needed, some travel required. Develops and maintains industry relationships via email and at events. Plans and coordinates with team members to prepare for shows.
  • Answers phone calls if/when necessary
  • Creates letterheads and other one-off materials on an as-needed basis
  • Assists other team members when needed
