Our Vision for this Role
We are looking for an experienced HVAC Specialist to provide inside project management and technical support for HVAC replacement projects. Primary responsibilities include management and administration of RTU replacement projects including overseeing contractors, scope of work, compliance, scheduling, invoice processing and commissioning. You will be required to remotely consider site conditions, maintenance histories and remaining lease terms to determine whether to repair or replace. You will utilize Energy Management Systems and work through contractors to remotely/virtually assess site conditions and prioritize replacements or other corrective actions as required. You will assist with the resolution of various HVAC problems that have been escalated from repair team, and you will be expected to seek cost-effective solutions to recurring comfort or maintenance issues. You will program and diagnose Energy Management Systems (EMS) controls. You will interact with various facility teams, contractors, manufacturers, landlords, and Real Estate. This position reports to our Manager of Field Engineering and is based out of our Marlboro offices. This role may occasionally require field work or travel.

You will apply your HVAC knowledge and experience to our stores with a focus on coordinating HVAC replacements across our national portfolio. You will be managing our HVAC assets to optimize operating costs and comfort, and your activities will have a direct impact on associate and customer experience in our stores. You’ll be working in a fast-paced environment and will be provided opportunities to apply your ideas to process improvements and new control technologies.

The Skills that will Make You Successful
- Experience installing or overseeing installations of commercial HVAC equipment. This includes leading contractors and projects, resolving issues and meeting project compliance requirements.
- Experience evaluating the remaining useful life of HVAC equipment and making decisions to repair or replace
- Experience operating and programming HVAC control systems and integrating with multi-site EMS
- Knowledge of integrating life safety systems with HVAC as required by code
- Knowledge of roofing system interactions with rooftop mechanical equipment
- Strong organizational and business partnering skills
- Ability to multi-task and accommodate changing priorities with multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to climb ladders to access/inspect roof top equipment
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar role
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience desired
- Ability to travel up to 20% of your time is required
