Aerotek is seeking qualified individuals to work as Machinists in Muncie, IN!
The company is a leading supplier of railroad and transit equipment - operating one of the most extensive rail service and supply networks in North America with more than 4,700 employees This is the only manufacturing site for 2 and 4 cycle locomotive engines in the United States.
This position will require the machinist to work in the Traction Motors, machining area. They have 2 CNC machines, a manual lathe machine, and a bar mill. This person will be responsible for operating the manual lathe machine. Primary responsibilities will include setting up the lathe, reading micrometers, snap mics, depth gauges, inside and outside micrometers. These are multi-axis machines. Machinist will load parts into the machine and operate machine. These pieces are large and can be 9 feet in length. The lathe that they will operate is a 1970's Gisholt Lathe. The part being loaded into the machine is a MSH Axel gear assembly part. Person will also be responsible for filling out all protocol paperwork to verify the part has completed each stage in the process.
Qualifications:
1. Manual CNC experience - Lathe, Grinder, Mill
2. Experience using/reading micrometers
3. Ability to understand math
4. Ability to set up machines
*Bar Mill and Magna Flux Training would be nice to have
Hours: 2:30pm - 11:00pm. Work week is Monday - Saturday.
Pay: $18.00/hr - $24.50/hr
Additional Compensation: Benefits through Blue Cross Blue Shield. Pay increases over time.
