Driller Helper - Full-time / Part-time

Looking for candidate to work for a nationally recognized consulting engineering and testing firm. This firm provides integrated services in several disciplines, including geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, engineering, facilities engineering, consulting, environmental consulting, asbestos management and industrial hygiene.

This individual will be working as a driller helper. They will be aiding the lead driller in the field with various drilling duties. The main responsibilities will be operating and maintaining drill rigs, all associated vehicles and various equipment on site. They will be assisting the driller perform geotechnical and environmental drilling on a daily basis. The various drilling activities will include soil drilling, rock coring, sampling, classification, in-situ testing and also monitoring well installations. Once the samples are taken, this individual will be responsible for maintaining necessary logs/records and filing reports upon completion.

To start the day this individual will meet the team at the Lansing location, then drive to whatever site they are working at. They will NOT be required to drive their own vehicles to client sites. At maximum, the site will be roughly 2 hours away. Anything past 2 hours, they will stay overnight at a hotel. All hotel expenses will be covered, as well as per dium.

Hours:

6-8am to 5-7pm (changes due to travel)
Peak summer hours will be 40-50 hours weekly and winter hours will range from 30-50 hours.

OT:

Up to 10 hours a week during peak summer hours.
