About this job
-Will be working on vertical/horizontal filling and sealing machines
-Set up, operate, and sanitize various filling equipment including pouching units, rotary fillers, cup and can fillers, bag filler, drum and pail
-Need to have a fundamental knowledge of food allergens and ability to perform metal detection in filling process
-Lines include cans, jars, and pouches along with capper and sealer machines
-Performing temperature and weight checks
-Using computer to enter product information, weights, etc.
-Monitoring machine to make sure output keeps up with production
-Perform change overs
-Making minor adjustments to runs when output is off
-Creating labels for product that include product number, expiration date, etc.
-Performing quality checks for seal strength, pouch weight, pouch integrity, etc.
-Sanitizing machine before and after runs
-Directing between 4-5 employees on proper packing of product off line
70% of day will be spent operating filler machine
20% of day will be spent performing sanitation and changeovers
10% of day will be spent sanitizing and helping out in other departments
