About this job

Creates configurable part models containing less than fifteen unique features and some complex geometry
Creates intermediate assembly models containing less than 125 unique items consisting of existing library parts along with newly developed parts. The complete model is based on similar existing models with multiple variation that requires design work with specific intent
Reviews, interprets and provides feedback on customer specifications mid-level vacuum systems
Interprets hand sketches, Piping & Instrumentation Diagram/Drawing (P&ID) or marked up designs
Designs and develops layouts for basic to intermediate vacuum systems
Analyzes and understands various design requirements and recommends possible solutions or alternate construction methods
Prepares initial mechanical design and generates documentation for checking purposes to insure customer specifications are met
Researches components from direct verbal and written instructions. Provide multiple options that includes information on ability to meet specifications and impacts for cost and lead time

Qualifications:

2 plus years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting or related field
Familiarity with industry standards, concepts, practices, and procedures. E.g. ASME, ANSI, NEMA etc.
Piping Design - 1 to 2 years
Mechanical Drafting - 2 to 4 years
SolidWorks - 1,000 hours of use on the job for every year of experience.
