About this job

Our client is looking for an electrical technician to join their Design Team. The Design Team is responsible for designing custom control panels for all of Fuji Electric's customers around the world.

Main Responsibilities:
* Evaluate and interpret customer project requirements delivered via engineering specifications, drawings, e-mail, etc. and integrate them into Fuji Electric's Industrial Control Panel design
* Produce electrical and mechanical calculations, electrical & mechanical drawings, inspection & test
reports/instructions, bill of materials, special manufacturing instructions and other project/customer
required documentation
* Utilize Autodesk AutoCAD & Inventor software following company practices for creating electrical drawings, component layout drawings, equipment outline drawings and specification drawings for
suppliers
* Prepare all the necessary documentation and create technical proposals & quotations for Industrial Control Panels of various size projects by reviewing and analyzing customer specifications and
requirements
* Ensure compliance with the project required agency or organizational codes & standards, such as UL, NEMA, NFPA, etc.
* Interface with component/part suppliers as needed to ensure quality products are provided to Fuji Electric customers
* Maintain design changes and ensure they are correctly and fully documented as well as transmitted as required to internal and external resources
* Provide all necessary documentation/drawings to production for manufacturing and support of manufacturing process as required
* Direct and interpret results of testing in order to ensure performance of the products
* Attend design review and project site meeting with customers
* Provide on-site customer field support for installation, commissioning, resolving quality issues, implementing design changes and component programming support as necessary
* Assist in reviewing or developing necessary product technical documentation and literature
* Identify and resolve technical/application issues as related to the engineered solution proposed or provided to the customer

Required Experience:
* B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology or other technical discipline with electrical & mechanical engineering courses
* 3+ years experience performing electrical design and schematic capture
* Proficient in computer program applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point and Autodesk 2016 AutoCAD & Inventor programs
* Ability to travel up to 25% of time

Preferred Experience:
* Working knowledge of industrial power and control products utilized in Industrial Control Panels along with knowledge on the following codes and standards: UL-508A, NFPA 79, NFPA 70 & NFPA 70E
* Ability to work weekends, holiday, evenings and nights as needed to achieve business objectives or customer needs
