Medical Billing Specialist

Aerotek is currently hiring experienced customer service representatives for an upcoming long-term contract opportunity with a top health care company in Virginia Beach!

The position requires individuals who have experience working in a call center environment, preferably in the banking sector and who have experience with billing and/or finance.

Job Description:

They are anticipating a huge member increase and call volume from 10,000-40,000 calls per month. Candidates will be responsible for the following:

• Must answer telephone or mailing inquiries regarding rates, routing, or procedures.
• Post charges and adjustments to member account.
• Post and process member payments to their account.
• Contact or follow up with patient insurance carrier, attorney, or claim adjuster in an effort to process member's bills.
• Set up payment arrangement with members regarding member's bills.
• Estimate market value of products or services.
• Calculate fee schedules.
• Responsible for coding operative notes and for auditing physician documentation for selection of E/M service codes.
• Provide excellent customer service skills and professional telephone conduct with members, physician clients, and insurance company representatives.
• Contact patients to obtain or relay account information.
• Consult sources such as rate books, manuals, or insurance company representatives to determine specific charges or information such as rules, regulations, or government tax and tariff information.
• Prepare itemized statements, bills, or invoices and record amounts due for items purchased or services rendered.
• Resolve discrepancies in accounting records.
• Review documents such as purchase orders, sales tickets, charge slips, or hospital records to compute fees or charges due.
• Verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors
