Position Summary:

Responsible for assisting with the effective and consistent administration of the collective bargaining agreements for the Division. Responsible for proper handling of grievances in a manner that will protect the Company's right to effectively run the business. Responsible for establishing and maintaining a union/management relationship that will minimize the number of grievances, arbitrations or other charges. Role model and demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of others.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Ensure that employment decisions/actions which affect associates (i.e., demotions, separations, transfers, and disciplinary action measures) are made in a timely, consistent and lawful manner and in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and industrial standards.
  • Work diligently with all management to promote harmonious labor relations. Continue to foster the concept of safeguarding the Company's management rights.
  • Ensure required labor and employee relations training is conducted for the division.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state labor and employment laws.
  • Educate and advise management associates in the administration of progressive discipline.
  • Conduct training/education meetings with management on any newly negotiated labor agreements.
  • Administer grievance and complaint resolution processes.
  • Represent the company in all labor/employment or legal matters.
  • Representative the company in litigation initiated by associates through local unions, governmental agencies and civil disputes. (i.e., EEOC charges, etc.)
  • Achieve training certifications as required.
  • Work diligently to apply and execute union avoidance practices and organizing campaign strategies where appropriate.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Strong computer skills - Microsoft suite

  • Strong understanding of finance and related modeling.
  • Strong understanding of health and retirement benefit plans.

  • Bachelor's Degree (in business or economics preferred)
