POSITION PURPOSE:
The Manager of Operations Strategy helps formulate the strategy for The Home Depot?s Operations team, spanning Store Operations, Asset Protection, Tool Rental & Repair, Workforce Operations, Customer Care, and Building Services. This role determines and evaluates relevant topics and makes recommendations for forward-looking business focus and improvement in alignment with the company?s strategy.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Support annual strategic planning process. Assist business leaders in the development and communication of specific operational/merchandising initiatives that will drive the overall corporate strategy. Support monthly reviews of key strategic imperatives 
  • Provide market and competitive business intelligence. Monitor and assess macro trends in the home improvement marketplace. Maintain competitive overviews using publicly available information both financial and strategic ? and routine store visits 
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis and provide recommendations on a wide variety of strategic business decisions important to the Executive Leadership Team; examples include, Benchmarking (intra and intercompany and Operational decisions across the company (Merchandising, Marketing, Supply Chain, E-commerce, Store Operations, etc.) 
  • Financial Planning and Analysis. Prepare and interpret various analyses of company results. Financial planning and target setting.

NATURE AND SCOPE:
  • This position reports to Sr Manager Operations Strategy 
  • This position has no Direct Reports

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Environment:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Additional Environmental Job Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.


Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or
equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 6 years

Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • ? Retail / e-commerce experience 
  • ? Previous experience with a top-tier consulting or investment banking firm
