This position assists in day to day operations of outlet as well as collaboration with GM/Director on larger strategic issues and ideas, responsible for daily checklists, daily assignments of areas of responsibility, assisting the GM/Chef in their duties, general supervision, coaching, training, and discipline.

• Responsible for assisting with: ordering, inventory, payroll, scheduling, reporting, pricing, and other FOH duties.
• Responsible for cash handling, computer work, open/close duties, bank deposits and accuracy in all money matters.
• Responsible for monitoring santiation standards and ensuring outlet operates to all applicable standards. Responsible for notifying the responsible parties if any standards are not being met, and working with those parties to remedy the situation.
• Assisting with general marketing, signage, promotions for the outlet.
• Assisting with general hiring duties, training, and motivation and retention of staff.
• Will work in cooperation with BOH staff to ensure quality service and product.
• Other duties as requested by management. This position can include kitchen work, general cleaning, snow removal, etc.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience supervising a fine dining establishment - required
• Previous experience within Vail Resorts - preferred
• Ability to demonstrate and teach/train knowledge of wines, liquors, beers and other luxury beverage items. - required
• Ability to demonstrate and teach/train knowledge of fine dining service principles and standards. - required
• Knowledge of AAA service standards - preferred

Additional Information:

The Alpenglow Stube is located at the top of North Peak mountain in the Outpost Restaurants building. This is a remote location and operations are subject to weather delays and cancellations. Adaptability and flexibility are a must in this position, the right candidate will maintain a positive attitude in the face of challenges, will embrace the service culture of Vail Resorts, and will maintain a sense of cooperation with the other outlets in the building. Hours of operation for the Stube are: Dinner service Wednesday - Saturday nights, Lunch service beginning mid December Thursday - Sunday. Operations begin Thanksgiving week and continue weekends only until mid December. This candidate will be expected to work in other areas of operation at the Outpost, including, but not limited to: Timberidge Food Court, Der Fondue Chessel restaurants.
