The Denver Environmental Business Unit (EBU) is actively seeking a highly motivated software engineering intern. The role will provide valuable experience in Information Management Systems as well as Consulting. Our interns have the opportunity to work closely with experts in the field and to support projects we have with global clients. AECOM is searching for candidates that have the ability to be a role model, be client-focused, be impactful and be decisive. All technical interns at AECOM will be eligible to participate in AECOM's intern development program. The program develops talented students through a combination of work experience, training, networking and exposure to AECOM subject matter experts. The goal of the program is to introduce AECOM and assist with building business and technical competency. Interns whose overall performance achieves AECOM's expectations, ideally, receive a recommendation for a full-time position after graduation.

This position is expected to be around 20 hours per week but will vary based on workload. The successful candidate will work under the direction of experienced computer science professionals, subject matter experts, and project teams to support software design, development, documentation, and maintenance. This position will provide the candidate with the opportunity to work with a variety of coding languages, platforms, and disciplines. The candidate will work with various internal programmers, as well as GIS, data management, and subject matter personnel and will report to the software engineering team leader.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Support application design, development, documentation, and maintenance
+ Provide the candidate with the opportunity to work with a variety of coding languages, platforms, and disciplines
+ Work with various internal programmers and data management specialists and will report to the software engineering team leader
+ Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
Minimum Requirements
+ Currently in pursuit of Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related 4-year degree at an accredited university
+ Must be able to commute to the "Denver Plaza" office location (6200 S Quebec Street, Greenwood Village, CO 80111) and other offices or client meetings within a day's drive
+ Demonstrated problem-solving, critical thinking, and time-management skills
+ Strong oral and written communications skills
+ Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
+ Willingness to explore new subject matters (chemistry, environmental compliance, geology, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
+ A university student that has completed their Junior or Senior year of school.
+ Preferred experience and/or a strong interest in the following areas:
+ Object oriented programming/design
+ C# .NET, WPF, MVC, WebApi
+ Html, CSS/Sass
+ JavaScript (Node, jQuery, Angular)
+ SQL Server, Oracle, Microsoft Access
