Primary Duties and Responsibilities:


Organize and direct the work of Plant Operators in various functions of Quality Control (inspection, documentation, and reporting).


Handle all duties related to personnel management of the work group including but not limited to: work time and attendance records, vacation approvals, performance appraisals, and discipline as needed.


Perform production audits and produce audit reports which identify items that do not conform to approved processes. Assist production manager and supervisors in correcting non-conformities and follow-up on the effectiveness of corrective action.


Train all supervisors, team leads/coordinators, and associates how to perform the quality management processes which are governed by QA/QC. These can include processes such as control (IPP), control of non-conforming parts, return parts analysis, abnormal condition reporting.


Manage processes and systems in compliance with customer requirements and TS16949 requirements.


Identify opportunities to reduce the cost of quality and work with other departments for improvements.


Benchmark with other manufacturers and keep current industry innovations to keep quality function competitive.

Requirements


Minimum of an Associate?s Degree is required, preferably in Industrial Management or related technical emphasis

Knowledge and experience:


  • Minimum of 2 years-experience in Production, Maintenance, or Quality Assurance/Quality Control; Manufacturing setting preferred


  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of the Microsoft Suite. (EXCEL, WORD, POWERPOINT and ACCESS)


  • Supervisory experience preferred; must show examples of leading a work group toward an improvement goal which involved the coordination of other persons who did not directly report to the applicant.


  • A working knowledge of TS16949 and automotive customer requirements strongly desired


  • Must show increasing responsibility in previous positions and evidence of continued pursuit of learning in the field.


  • Experience in educating a work group on critical processes including follow-up to confirm understanding and performance.
